From the first “grappa” bar in North America in San Francisco to mixing tequila and sushi together in Boston, Jean Pierre Etcheberrigaray is known for creating unique and memorable food and beverage concepts where social lubrication and interaction are paramount.  Now, Etcheberrigaray has come up with another great creation: he is the mastermind of the FB Confit-dential Blog, a venue for all things food and beverage happening at InterContinental’s signature bars and restaurants throughout North America.

Etcheberrigaray oversees the food and beverage operations and strategic planning for the InterContinental Hotels and Resorts brands in the Americas as well as company-owned and managed Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express hotels. He plays a crucial role in new hotel development and renovation projects and has created numerous award-winning concepts, such as the E-Host Menu, The World Class Beverage Program, XO Bar, Sushi-Teq, Rumba Bar, Luce, and Bar 888, and many more. 

With over 25 years of hospitality and food and beverage experience, Jean-Pierre has held roles of increasing responsibility throughout his career. For more than a decade, he was general manager of several hotels including InterContinental Toronto, Mayfair InterContinental London, InterContinental Cartagena and the InterContinental Valencia, and regional director of food and beverage for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts – Latin America.  Prior to joining IHG in 1989, Jean-Pierre served as director, food and beverage for a number of upscale hotel brands across the globe, including Pan-Pacific Vancouver and Le Meridien. He began his career in the hospitality industry at Relais & Chateaux in France. 

A native of the Basque country, Jean-Pierre graduated from the State University of New York in Morrisville. He is a member of the Chaîne des Rotîsseurs, Chevalier de l’ordre des Coteaux de Champagne, Chevaliers de Méduse and Commandeur de la Confrérie des Chevaliers de Saint Antoine, and serves at the Vice President for Southeast Regional French-American Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta, Georgia.
